Iris ensata 'Tiramisu'

Indulge in a truly delectable treat, in the form of dinnerplate Iris ensata 'Tiramisu'.  It isn’t edible but it’s certainly sweet on the eye!  The huge blooms can reach up to 15cm in diameter, formed of icy white petals which are edged and dusted with a sprinkling of purple. This Iris dishes up the most amazing blooms in early summer,  the wide arching petals curve outwards to reveal such spectacular detail. Iris ensata 'Tiramisu' is a head-turning and satisfyingly low-maintenance focal point for areas of the garden with damp soil. 

Dinnerplate Iris are the latest development among Iris ensata cultivars, boasting colossal blooms of almost twice the size of traditional varieties—a tempting choice for summer bouquets! Iris ensata 'Tiramisu' is a hardy perennial that forms a dense grassy clump of upright, sword-like leaves and will bloom every year when it’s happy in its place. Commonly called Japanese water iris, these moisture loving plants flourish in damp soils and are even happy when paddling in the boggy soil at the outer edges of a small pond.
