Iris 'Light of Heart'

This Iris has a name and an appearance that are both uplifting. The double blooms of Iris 'Light of Heart', which appear in late spring and early summer, have striking two-tone colouring: contrasting violet-red to pale lilac, with golden yellow to brownish-red centres. This colour combination does well in any summer garden, whether it has a predominance of cool or hot-coloured flowers. The leaves of Iris siberica 'Light of Heart' are sword-shaped, and grey-green. It is a simply stunning Iris.  

Iris siberica 'Light of Heart' is a compact, clump-forming perennial, so will give many years of flowering pleasure. It’s ideal for the partially shady garden, or by the edge of a pond, or even in a large patio container. This Iris is even excellent as a cut flower.  

Planting Iris sibirica in masses adds elegant charm to the late spring garden. Use these plants as a border background for other early spring bloomers. Although they perform best in a rich, fertile soil, Siberian iris will also be fine in lean or poor soils.
