Dahlia 'Aphrodite'
Dahlia 'Aphrodite'—named after the Greek goddess of love and beauty—is a brand-new Dahlia cultivar, and is rarely seen for sale. Be one of the first to grow this gorgeous decorative variety. The stunning blooms are neither pinkish-red nor yellow-cream: they are both! Inside, towards to the centre of the bloom, the petals are creamy white and a lovely pale yellow, getting darker towards the centre. However, the tips of the petals, leading to a quarter of the way along, are a vivid pink-red, giving a wonderful two-tone appearance. Then, right in the centre, the unfurled petals have a lovely maroon-purple glow about them. And we haven't mentioned the size yet—the blooms of Dahlia 'Aphrodite' may be between 17-25cm across, so they'll make a real impact in your garden.
Flowering from mid-summer until the first frosts of autumn, Dahlia 'Aphrodite' will not disappoint in a mixed border or patio pot. Deadhead it regularly to encourage more flowers. And, don’t forget, the blooms are perfect for cutting and bringing indoors for vase decoration.
